Position Overview

Engineering Project Manager

Alexander Associates Technical Recruitment is collaborating with a dynamic Swiss enterprise in the aerospace industry, renowned for their innovative design and provision of satellite frameworks, thermal management systems, and mechanical ground support apparatus.

Due to their ongoing success, they are broadening their operations to the UK and establishing a new office. They are in search of a proficient Engineering Project Manager to play a pivotal role in enhancing their footprint in the UK market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop intricate systems and components, including welded assemblies, mechanical elements, and electromechanical devices, tailored to meet defined specifications and requirements.
  • Recognize and formulate effective solutions to emerging challenges.
  • Produce detailed and robust technical documentation.
  • Engage actively in client interactions.
  • Report operational activities to the parent organization.
  • Supervise assembly, testing, and commissioning processes.
  • Assist the sales team in promoting UK operations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5-10 years of pertinent experience.
  • Background in the aerospace sector.
  • Strong grasp of fundamental principles such as mechanics, kinematics, welded structures, and electromechanics.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling software, ideally CATIA V5.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight; proactive and quick to respond.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both with clients and internally.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering is beneficial.
  • Project management certification (PMI or equivalent) is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally (approximately 10-20% of work time).
