An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join an established team within a multi-academy trust, focusing on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

This role requires a commitment of two to three days per week during term time, with flexibility in hours available for discussion during the interview process.

Working collaboratively with SEND Coordinators and the Head of Children's Services, we are in search of a dedicated and skilled therapist who has a successful history of providing high-quality interventions to students with diverse needs in a primary school environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive speech and language therapy assessments and interventions for young individuals, including guidance and training for parents, caregivers, and professionals in accordance with established treatment plans.
  • Manage a caseload of students with complex communication needs across multiple schools, ensuring an efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of students with varying communication challenges, analyzing findings to recommend and implement tailored intervention strategies.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, as well as support within educational contexts.
  • Design, execute, and evaluate personalized speech, language, and communication programs, ensuring that these can be effectively implemented by others through clear written guidelines and training.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of clinical governance and risk management, utilizing evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Participate in relevant reviews and team meetings, fostering a collaborative approach with other professionals and external agencies.
  • Coordinate with other relevant professionals to gather and share necessary information, including attendance at appointments when required.
  • Be prepared to adapt and assist with various duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Possess a professional degree in Speech and Language Therapy or an equivalent qualification.
  • Adhere to RCSLT clinical guidelines and HCPC standards.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Proficiency in employing diverse strategies to support young individuals with social communication challenges.
  • Experience in drafting complex reports.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, with the ability to convey intricate information clearly to various audiences, including students, parents, and professionals.

The successful candidate will need to travel between multiple school locations.
