We are looking for a dedicated professional to work two to three days a week during term time, with flexibility in hours to be discussed during the interview process.

As part of our SEND team, you will collaborate with SEND Coordinators and the Head of Children's Services. We seek an experienced and passionate therapist who has a proven track record of delivering high-quality interventions to support vulnerable students in a primary school environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality speech and language therapy assessments and interventions for young individuals, including providing guidance and training to parents, caregivers, and relevant professionals according to established treatment plans.
  • Ensure the speech and language therapy service operates efficiently to meet the needs of young people effectively.
  • Work independently while managing a caseload of young individuals with complex needs across a multi-academy trust comprising four primary schools.
  • Conduct assessments for young people with diverse communication challenges, analyzing and interpreting findings to recommend and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Provide tailored speech and language therapy interventions for individuals and groups, as well as within educational settings.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate personalized speech, language, and communication programs, ensuring that these can be delivered by others through accessible written guidelines and training.
  • Exhibit a solid understanding of clinical governance and risk management, utilizing evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Participate in relevant reviews and team meetings, fostering a culture of collaboration with other disciplines and external agencies.
  • Collaborate with other agencies or professionals to gather and share necessary information, including attendance at appointments when required.
  • Be prepared to adapt and assist in various duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Possess a professional degree in Speech and Language Therapy or an equivalent qualification.
  • Adhere to RCSLT clinical guidelines and HCPC standards.

Experience:

  • Prior experience as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience in employing a variety of strategies to support young individuals with social communication challenges.
  • Proficient in preparing comprehensive reports.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences, including young people, parents, and professionals.

The successful candidate must be able to travel between multiple schools as required.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary equivalent to NHS Band 6 (pro-rated based on hours worked).
  • Access to the local government pension scheme.
  • State-of-the-art IT resources.
  • Investment in continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Cycle to work and electric vehicle schemes.
