About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk and Assurance Analyst to join our team at UK Power Networks. As a Risk and Assurance Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of our risk management and assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the Risk and Assurance team, identifying, mitigating, and monitoring risks across UK Power Networks.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Own and enhance the Risk and Assurance Management Information system, ensuring accurate reporting and monitoring for all partners.
  • Support the accurate preparation of quarterly reports on Risk and Assurance activities for the Board.
  • Take full ownership of the Risk and Assurance workflow system, Synergi, including its ongoing development to better meet the needs of the team and the broader business.
  • Provide expertise in data analysis techniques across all Risk and Assurance team, including Audit, Regulatory Compliance, Fraud Investigations, and Enterprise Risk.
  • Promote the continuous improvement of the audit actions closing process, ensuring that actions mitigate identified risks and are measurable.
  • Help conduct risk assessments to evaluate the significance of identified risks and their potential impact on the business.
  • Collaborate with departments to implement best practices and controls that align with UK Power Networks' strategic goals.
Requirements
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret and draw insights from complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Power BI, IDEA, Tableau, and Excel.
  • The ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Consistently looking for opportunities for efficiency and process improvements.

Desirable Experience
  • Previous experience in risk or assurance roles, with an understanding of risk management principles and best practices.
  • Experience working within a Distribution Network Operator, utility company, or a similar regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with the UK regulatory landscape for energy and utilities, including understanding compliance requirements and industry standards.
