Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Category Manager to join our team at the British Coatings Federation. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve business objectives, including cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain optimization.
  • Category Management: Manage the procurement of pigments and related commodities, including evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with company guidelines.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Supplier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, including negotiating contracts and resolving disputes.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations.
Requirements
  • 8-10 years of total Procurement experience, including 5 years of strategic category management experience.
  • Procurement experience in pigments is a plus, but not required.
  • Deep understanding of the additives market, including key suppliers, pricing dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
  • System experience, including Sales Force, Ariba (desired, not required), and SAP is required.
  • Bilingual English with Spanish or Portuguese is a plus, but not required.
