**Job Summary**

Cheshire West and Chester Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader to join our team and make a significant contribution to the council's operations.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Provide administrative support to the council, including managing correspondence, maintaining records, and preparing reports.

• Oversee the financial management of the council, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

• Develop and implement effective administrative systems and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the council.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with elected councillors, stakeholders, and community groups.

• Line manage two part-time staff and a number of contractors, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.

• Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices, ensuring the council's compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with other council departments to achieve shared goals and objectives.

**Requirements**

• A qualified Clerk or willingness to study for and attain the CiLCA qualification within a reasonable timeframe.

• Excellent administrative, financial, and IT skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A 'hands-on' style, with a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
