Job Title: Senior Hardware Design Engineer

ALÉO Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex electronic systems and hardware components.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Development: Design, develop, and deploy DO-254 processes, reviews, development plans, and review checklists for electronic systems and hardware components.
  2. Hardware Architecture: Analyze user requirements and create detailed hardware architectures and formal structured designs for electronic systems and hardware components.
  3. Electronics Design: Perform electronics, hardware FPGA design, and mechanical engineering design for electronic systems and hardware components.
  4. EMC/EMI Design: Design electronic CC electronics from detailed designs to meet EMC/EMI requirements and performance.
  5. Cost Estimation: Prepare material costs and timing estimates, reports, and design descriptions for electronic systems and hardware components.
  6. Circuit Analysis: Perform circuit analysis and traceability from user requirements to formal design and implementation.
  7. Installation and Testing: Support and inspect the installation, modification, testing, and operation of electronic components, systems, and equipment.
  8. Debugging and Troubleshooting: Debug and troubleshoot hardware circuits.
  9. Integration: Integrate CC components into embedded system environments, including test benches and on-aircraft at customer sites.
  10. Leadership: Work with product development teams – product/systems and/or Software Engineers and engineering support in a leadership role.
  11. Program Risk Assessment: Participate and support program risk assessment and mitigation.
  12. Team Supervision: Supervise the work of junior designers and/or other engineering employees.
Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with:

  1. Minimum 5 years of analog and digital experience in circuit design and analysis.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  3. Experience in control systems (Engine Control, Landing and Steering Controls an asset), Avionics, Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Devices, or other high-reliability products.
  4. Technical and hardware qualifications (DO-254) experience would be an asset but is not necessary.
  5. Proven experience working with standards, processes, and work procedures in a structured design environment.
  6. Familiarity with RTCA, Inc. certification standards.
