Position Overview
Salary: £14.59 to £15.34 per hour, inclusive of annual leave entitlement.
Location: The primary office will be in Chichester, with a flexible working arrangement that includes remote work and site visits.
Working Hours: 0-37 hours based on operational requirements.
On average, our Events and Initiatives Assistants contribute approximately 490 hours annually, translating to around 10 hours weekly, allowing for a highly adaptable and diverse work schedule.
As a Community Events Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting our team of over 30 Waste Prevention Advisor volunteers. You will take the lead in organizing, executing, and participating in events, presentations, and discussions, both in-person and virtually, as part of our outreach initiatives.
This role may involve operating an event vehicle, such as a car or small van, with training provided.
You will acquire insights into waste prevention and recycling efforts in West Sussex and will be encouraged to propose ideas for campaigns and initiatives that you will then share with the local community.
Key Requirements
- Strong literacy skills.
- Customer-focused approach, delivering high-quality service.
- Exceptional communication and listening abilities, particularly verbal communication.
- Valid UK driving license.
- Capacity to inspire and motivate volunteers, with a genuine enthusiasm for waste prevention and recycling.
- Proficient in organizing and prioritizing tasks while managing multiple responsibilities.
- Solid IT skills.
