Role Purpose

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the planning and execution of client accounting needs, ensuring adherence to the Company's contractual commitments. As a key member of the management team, you will contribute to strategic initiatives and the professional development of the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and uphold processes to guarantee the timely fulfillment of client accounting obligations related to financial reports and accounts for private and public funds, as well as associated entities.
  • Ensure compliance with current accounting standards and best practices throughout the accounts production process.
  • Collaborate with clients and other advisors to set timelines for the preparation of annual, interim, and management accounts.
  • Participate in board meetings and client discussions to present accounts and operational matters, ensuring team representatives are well-prepared.
  • Coordinate with auditors to ensure timely audit completion for funds and related entities, meeting all regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with ongoing obligations of stock exchange-listed entities concerning financial accounting duties.
  • Manage and enhance the structure and reporting lines within the accounting team, determining staffing needs and overseeing recruitment.
  • Inspire and motivate staff, maintain quality control, and continuously seek to enhance departmental and individual performance.
  • Provide necessary training resources to equip staff for their roles, ensuring clear objectives and management goals are established.
  • Document, adhere to, and regularly review and improve team procedures.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team through regular departmental meetings to assess ongoing work.
  • Assist in preparing fee proposals for new business opportunities and engage with potential clients.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • ACCA or ACA qualified with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience preferred.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Ability to lead and inspire the accounting team.
  • Proficient in interacting with colleagues at all levels and managing personal workload effectively.
  • Patience and capability to develop staff through training and personal growth initiatives.
  • Contribute to the strategic objectives of the Company.
  • Drive for continuous improvement.
