Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts: You will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts, ensuring that financial data is correctly recorded and reported, providing a clear picture of the company's financial health
- Monthly P&L Analysis: Conduct detailed profit and loss analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Your insights will help guide strategic decisions and improve business performance.
- Business Performance Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive reports on business performance to key stakeholders, including financial analysis and metrics that drive business decisions and strategy
- Commission Calculations: Accurately calculate and process commission payments, ensuring that all payments are made in accordance with the company's compensation structure and timelines
- Complete VAT Returns: Ensure that VAT returns are completed accurately and submitted on time, complying with all relevant tax regulations and minimising any risk of penalties.
- Assist with the Annual Audit: Support the annual audit process by preparing necessary documentation, reconciling accounts, and addressing auditor queries, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit.
- Assist Junior Members of the Team: Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members, helping them develop their skills and ensuring they contribute effectively to the team's objectives.
- Interpreting and Communicating Financial Data to Non-Financial Managers: Translate complex financial information into clear and concise reports that can be easily understood by non-financial managers, aiding them in making informed decisions.
- Assist in the Development of Flash Reporting: Help in creating and refining flash reports that provide quick snapshots of financial performance, allowing for timely business interventions and adjustments
- Assist in Ad-hoc Projects: Participate in various ad-hoc projects, such as the development and improvement of finance business processes, ensuring that the finance function remains aligned with overall business objectives
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant: ACA - You must be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices, demonstrating expertise in financial reporting and analysis.
- High Attention to Detail, Completeness, and Reconciliation of Information: A meticulous approach to work is essential, with an emphasis on ensuring all financial data is accurate, complete, and fully reconciled, reducing the risk of errors in financial reporting.
- Financially Numerate with Strong Excel Skills: Proficiency in Excel is crucial for managing financial data, creating models, and performing complex analyses that support business decision-making.
