About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Infection Consultant to join our team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our Laboratory Infection Sciences team, you will play a vital role in shaping the delivery of Infection services across our Network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting of clinical samples in virology and microbiology
  • Liaising with clinicians for priority samples
  • Quality assurance and quality improvement projects
  • Supporting IPC with routine interpretation work
  • Involvement with outbreak and root cause analysis
  • Training of Infection trainees
  • Infection education to colleagues
  • Attendance of the annual Microbiology/Virology review
  • Involvement with the UKAS process
