Job Title: Electrical Shift Supervisor

Join Integral UK as an Electrical Shift Supervisor and take on a challenging role that requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our critical facilities and data centres.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the site-based engineering team, including internal and MEP responsibilities.
  • Operate all systems within the facility in a competent, effective, and efficient manner, including MV switching operations.
  • Control all activities relating to the technical and efficient operation of installed building systems, including MEP assets and compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Prepare and support specialist vendor planned, reactive, and corrective works, ensuring relevant change management approval is submitted for all critical works.
  • Ensure that specialist vendor worksheets are signed off where necessary, and quality of work has been inspected and recommendations are communicated by the engineering team.
  • Provide backup as engineering relief cover in the event of an emergency, which may require temporary shift working.
  • Ensure the team and specialist vendors comply with contractual service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Key operator of the Corrigo CMMS system, ensuring that MEP PPM, reactive, and corrective work orders/tasks are accurately completed within SLA.
  • Monitor progress throughout the shift to ensure compliance with expected outputs from your team.
  • Utilize appropriate resource within the team to achieve this key contractual output.
  • Attend weekly operations meetings, client meetings as requested, in conjunction with Integral account management.
  • Assist the Assistant Chief Engineer/Chief Engineer in completing the monthly and quarterly engineering report as detailed in the BlackRock/JLL SSOW contract, ensuring that significant events or activities are noted.
  • Contribute and highlight engineering risk and report on critical systems availability daily.
  • Complete the shift handover reports, ensuring that significant events or activities are noted and effectively communicated to oncoming shifts and Integral management.
  • Control of critical spares, including maintaining site stock register, including auditing of stock levels.
  • Procure spares from suppliers if required.
  • Compile critical incident and near-miss reporting and after-action reviews.
  • Ensure all MEP planned maintenance is undertaken in line with requirements of OEM/SFG20 as a minimum.
  • Ensure all critical equipment operational issues are escalated immediately, inline with local site process.
  • Review service reports of all specialist vendors, chasing any recommendations/follow-up actions with specialist vendors.
  • Production of site-specific SOP/MOP/EOP.
  • Assist the Assistant Chief Engineer in the delivery of critical infrastructure scenario training, taking a lead role in the development of engineers within the team.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement of safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with relevant HSE policy and procedures, including TBTs.
  • Escalate specialist vendor performance issues, detailing accurately the areas of performance concerns.
  • Ensure technical/legislative updates are effectively communicated with all team members.
  • Maintain minimum levels of resourcing onsite, support the arrangement of suitable cover/replacement.
  • Active participation in the site ONWH escalation and support of the 24/7 operation.
  • Take ownership of areas (including all plant rooms) under Integral control, ensuring they are brought up to and maintained to the required show site standards.
  • Liaise with the supply chain, when ordering M&E components for remedial works.
  • Proactively attend nominated training courses as identified by Integral management in line with the account training matrix.
  • Drive a positive culture within the team, regarding personal development and training.
  • Undertake site-specific technical assessments and skills gap analysis at intervals defined by Integral/JLL/BlackRock.
  • Coach new employees as part of the process for on-boarding new starters.
  • Participate in engineering quality assurance process, to validate the standards of completed works.
  • Audit 10% of completed work orders to ensure levels of quality are maintained.
  • Complete all responsibilities in line with the site-based MEP responsibilities matrix.
  • AladinWorks alarm response and escalations for all critical alarms while on shift duty.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in critical environments such as banking HQ and data centres.
  • HV authorised person (experienced with HV systems).
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HNC or HND (successfully completed apprenticeship in either).
  • C&G Pts. 1 & 2, equivalent or exceeds.
  • 17th Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation (ability to attain 18th Edition through additional training).
  • C&G 2391 test and inspection; BS 7671:2001 for inspection, testing, and certification.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and direct a small team of engineers.
  • Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation.
  • Good IT and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm, clear thinking, and able to deliver the required services to the client within given time constraints.
  • Individuals who can demonstrate commitment and previous experience; but not meet all the required technical qualifications may be considered subject to Operations Directors approval.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to attend on and off-site training for MEP assets, this may require nights away from home due to the nature of the specialist training such as HV authorised person training.
  • Physical fitness.

  • Advanced communication skills with a full understanding of customer needs and expectations.
  • Ability to comprehend and act upon both verbal and written instructions.
  • Enthusiasm and demonstration of pro-activity, diligence, and alertness, with the willingness to participate in appropriate internal training programmes.
