Head of Year Opportunity

TimePlan Education is partnering with a reputable secondary school in Lewisham to recruit a Head of Year for a temporary to permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage a designated year group, focusing on student welfare, behaviour, and academic achievement.
  2. Collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team and other Heads of Year to ensure consistent pastoral care across the school.
  3. Maintain a teaching timetable within your subject specialism while balancing Head of Year responsibilities.
  4. Organise and lead year group assemblies, events, and extracurricular activities.
  5. Contribute to whole-school initiatives, particularly around behaviour management and safeguarding.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in secondary education.
  2. Previous middle management experience in a school setting.
  3. A passion for pastoral care and supporting student well-being.
  4. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a dual teaching and pastoral role effectively.
