We are excited to announce an opening for a Radiology Assistant Apprentice within our esteemed Radiology department. This role is designed to support your professional growth while ensuring you can perform at your best.
Role Overview
The primary focus of this position is administrative; however, it also encompasses essential clinical responsibilities. The successful candidate will engage in typical Radiology administrative tasks, including managing Radiology bookings, overseeing the Radiology reporting system, and facilitating the image download service. Additionally, you will have the chance to assist in Ultrasound and MRI clinics, providing support to Radiographers and Radiologists as a chaperone and general aide.
Key Responsibilities
As a Radiology Assistant, your duties will include:
- Performing standard administrative tasks related to Radiology while contributing to the clinical aspects of patient care in Ultrasound and MRI settings.
Candidate Profile
To excel in the role of Radiology Assistant, you should possess:
- Experience in medical administration or a clinical role within a healthcare environment, though formal healthcare qualifications are not mandatory.
- The ability to adapt to both administrative and clinical settings.
- A combination of efficiency and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Willingness to work variable shifts, including early, late, and some weekends.

About Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital
Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including theatres, a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory, and an Endoscopy suite. Our hospital features two ward areas, an inpatient area with 21 beds, and a day-case ward with 12 beds. We also offer a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and a radiology department that includes an MRI scanner. Our specialties encompass elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology.
