Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical Manufacturing

Location: Hybrid

About the Company:

Cook Compression, a leading manufacturer of reciprocating compressor valves, packing cases, pistons, rings, and wipers, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

About the Job:

The successful candidate will be responsible for bringing together engineering and design content for customer proposals and work orders. They will instruct and guide design team members, check assembly drawings for accuracy, and assist other Application Engineers with advanced analysis techniques.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Over 7 years of experience in an engineered product manufacturing environment for industrial-level rotating or reciprocating equipment
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills, with the ability to present to and interface with customers
  • Familiarity with 3D AutoCAD and strong general IT skills
  • A thorough understanding of engineering principles and design practices
  • Demonstrated ability to create ideas and develop solutions, overcoming challenges to meet customer expectations

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse product designs using Dover Precision Components tools and practices, interpret results, and determine optimum solutions
  • Support development of advanced analysis techniques, including FEA, CFD, and rotordynamics
  • Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals
  • Participate in client/contractor meetings and resolve client/engineering and management project issues
