Job Title: Shift Team Leader - Energy from Waste Power Station

Astute Technical is partnering with a global engineering company to recruit a Shift Team Leader for their Energy from Waste Power Station near Tamworth, West Midlands.

Job Summary:

The Shift Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the shift operations team, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and experience working with steam raising plant.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Day-to-day leadership of the shift operations team
  • Ensuring the plant is operating within its parameters while complying with strict HSE rules and regulations
  • Managing the site's safety systems, including the permit to work system
  • Providing technical supervision and assistance to company and contract staff
  • Providing effective training and monitoring of shift staff
Professional Qualifications:
  • HNC minimum qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Being HV Senior Authorised Person will be highly advantageous
  • Formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH
Personal Skills and Prior Experience:
  • Prior experience working in operations within a heavy process engineering environment
  • Excellent proven leadership skills
  • Thorough understanding of using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Experience working with steam raising plant
Salary and Benefits:
  • Starting salary of c.£56,000
  • Bonus
  • Overtime (1.5x)
