Digital Forensics Consultant

As a Digital Forensics Consultant at FTI Consulting, you will be part of a team of experts dedicated to solving complex challenges for our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and acquire digital evidence to forensic standards, on-site at client premises around the UK and abroad.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize industry-standard and bespoke software to access, extract, and handle data from mobile devices, computers, servers, and cloud data sources.
- Perform forensic analysis and reporting for a wide range of digital devices under the supervision of senior staff.
- Liaise with clients and senior staff to manage work and ensure timely delivery of results.
- Research and develop custom solutions as required on a case-by-case basis.
- Be service-oriented to meet client deadlines, including working out of business hours when necessary.
- Travel as required, which may be at short notice.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A minimum 2:1 degree in forensic computing or a technology, criminal, or legal-focused subject, or equivalent experience.
- Enthusiasm for technology and an interest in technical developments.
- Self-development skills, demonstrating an ability to solve complex problems with well-thought-out solutions.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support the team's goals.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a client-facing role.
- Familiarity with forensic principles and technologies.
- A keen interest in forensic practices and protocols.
- Familiarity with mobile device, cloud, and personal computer systems.
- Experience working in a digital forensics or related role or university project.
- Knowledge of forensic imaging and analysis tools such as Encase, Cellebrite, or X-Ways.
- Ability to handle data using tools such as Excel, MS Access, SQL, and other tools.
- Knowledge of programming or scripting (Python, Java, C#, Visual Basic, PowerShell).
