About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, assisting with technical and tax queries, and providing advisory services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of clients, including existing and new clients as the company grows.
- Assist clients with technical and tax queries, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Be the first point of contact for client queries, responding promptly and professionally.
- Review and prepare statutory limited company accounts and CT600 returns.
- Undertake bookkeeping work for larger and more complex clients, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Review bookkeeping prepared by the bookkeeping team, providing feedback and solutions.
- Review Self Assessment returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Liaise with clients, providing advisory services and support.
- Stay up-to-date with financial policies, practices, and regulations, ensuring compliance.
- Deal with HMRC correspondence and enquiries, resolving issues efficiently.
- Support third-party auditors, providing necessary information and assistance.
- Attend internal and client meetings, as required.
- Participate in team training and implementation of new/improved procedures and processes.
- Charity experience is a desirable asset.
Requirements:
- Minimum AAT level 4 qualified with at least 5 years' practice experience.
- Xero and Quickbooks experience and/or certification.
- Experience with in-depth bookkeeping reviews.
- Accounting practice experience working on multiple client accounts.
- Excellent communication and English grammar skills.
- Client-focused with a positive, solutions-based attitude and mindset.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, producing accurate work under tight deadlines.
