Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operative to join our team at Aspion Search. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety and Compliance: Safely operate 5-ton overhead gantry cranes in both dual and single hoist modes using radio remote or pendant control, always performing personal risk assessments to ensure safe body positioning.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues where needed to achieve operational goals.
- Material Handling: Safely load and unload steel from incoming and outgoing trailers, ensuring secure handling and transport of materials.
- Inventory Management: Safely store and retrieve steel from various stock locations and saws, maintaining organized and efficient stock management.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct and document pre-use equipment checks on machinery, saws, cranes, mobile plant, and other equipment before operation to ensure safety and functionality.
- Mobile Plant Operations: Operate mobile plant equipment, including forklifts, side-trackers, side loaders, and Combi lifts, to facilitate safe storage and retrieval of materials, provided the necessary training has been completed.
- Vehicle Operations: Drive road-based vehicles on-site for loading and transportation purposes, ensuring safe movement of materials, provided the necessary training has been completed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Previous Experience: Previous experience operating overhead gantry cranes is highly advantageous.
- Mobile Plant Familiarity: Familiarity with mobile plant equipment and safe material handling practices.
- Personal Safety Awareness: Strong awareness of personal safety and the ability to conduct thorough risk assessments.
- Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of operational safety and efficiency.
