Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fabrication Maintenance Technician to join our team at DFS Furniture LTD. As an Apprentice Fabrication Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
    • Carry out repairs and replacements of equipment as needed, using your knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Proactive Maintenance
    • Conduct proactive planned maintenance tasks to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
    • Implement minor or small electrical installation works to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Quality and Safety
    • Ensure all machinery and equipment is kept in a safe working condition, adhering to regulatory and statutory requirements.
    • Conduct risk assessments and develop Site-Specific Operating Procedures (SSOPs) to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with the engineering team to identify and address maintenance needs.
    • Provide support and training to junior engineers and apprentices.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Administer work permits and monitor third-party contractors.
    • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including reports and documentation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical and minimum Level 2 in the opposite discipline - HND preferred in the main discipline.
  • C&G Initial and periodic electrical inspection and testing certification.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
