About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our team at the RSK Group. As a key member of our Geo-Environmental team, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the supervision of ground investigation works, including mentoring and shadowing.
  • Travel throughout the UK, with a significant proportion of time spent working away from home.
  • Attend and pass internal and industry-recognised external training courses, such as PTS, NRASWA, CCNSG, CAT, First Aid, and manual handling training.
  • Log soil and rock in accordance with BS5930:2020.
  • Install and monitor a range of instrumentation, including gas & groundwater, inclinometer, vibrating wire piezometer (VWP), magnetic extensometers, water level divers, across various bespoke projects.
  • Undertake gas & groundwater sampling.
  • Support the Geo, Survey, and Applied Technologies departments with site-based projects, as required.
  • Timely data management, processing, and reporting.
  • Assist with the maintenance and organisation of the yard, including arranging, sorting, picking, and delivery of soil samples.
  • Oversee monitoring equipment hiring/off-hiring, maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
  • Adhere to all RSK company policies and client policies and procedures when on site.
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge, such as British Standards and industry standards, with the support of the company.
About You

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual with a strong academic background in Geology, Geography, Earth Sciences, or a related field. You will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and use your own initiative.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • BSc Geology, Geography, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and work solo.
  • Commitment to safety and improving ways of working.
  • Self-motivated, solutions-focused, organised, and effective time management.
  • Ability to conduct business in a professional and polite manner at all times.
  • Familiarity with data management tools and reporting software.
  • Microsoft Office and computer literate, with training provided on other software.
  • Adaptable to variable working environments.
  • Ability to work remotely around the UK, including from home when agreed and approved.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, when required.
  • A manual, valid UK driving license.
  • Unrestricted work rights in the United Kingdom.
