Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated social worker to join our integrated Looked After Children service. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with children and young people between the ages of 0-18, providing assessment, care planning, and permanency planning. Your expertise in family law care proceedings and knowledge of the legislative framework will be invaluable in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hold a caseload of children and young people, providing assessment, care planning, and permanency planning
  • Work closely with family law care proceedings, ensuring compliance with statutory timescales
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including LAC CAMHS clinicians, the Virtual School for Looked After Children, and specialist health and mediation services
  • Design and implement creative interventions to improve outcomes for looked after children and care leavers
Requirements
  • Good experience of working in children's social care, with a focus on family law care proceedings
  • Strong knowledge of the legislative framework, particularly the Children Act 1989
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and families
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office packages
