Job Title: Band 5 Older Person Mental Health Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a Band 5 Older Person Mental Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients aged 65 and above who are experiencing mental health problems.

About the Role

As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate care that meets individual needs. Your expertise will be invaluable in supporting patients with complex mental health issues, including dementia.

You will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and providing evidence-based interventions to promote recovery and well-being. Your ability to communicate effectively, build strong relationships, and work collaboratively with others will be essential in delivering exceptional patient care.

Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disabilities Nurse with current NMC Registration
  • Diploma/ Degree in Nursing
  • Ability to assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate quality care
  • Experience of complex mental health problems
  • Knowledge and experience of Older People's Mental Health
