About the Role

The Government Recruitment Service is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Policy and Governance Lead to join our team. As a key member of our specialist team, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of policies and standards that underpin the designing, running, and decommissioning of technical solutions across the Home Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the vision, principles, and strategy set down by the Head of Governance, Risk, and Compliance, ensuring that it reflects the needs of the Home Office and the wider Department.
  • Liaise with stakeholders within the Home Office to ensure that policies and standards are seamlessly deployed.
  • Coordinate, maintain, and regularly review policies, standards, and Home Office-defined artefact templates.
  • Ensure appropriate change management and configuration control of policies, standards, and Home Office-defined artefact templates.
  • Review the latest cyber security standards, threat intelligence, frameworks, and guidance to ensure that the latest industry best practice is reflected throughout the Home Office's own cyber policies and standards.
  • Identify ways to continually improve the Home Office's cyber policies and standards and act as a point of escalation for the team.

Working Arrangements

This role is available on a full-time basis, with the option for job-share and compressed hours. Occasional travel to other Home Office locations may be required.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and implementation skills.
  • Ability to devise and conduct policy compliance reviews in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Task and line management experience.
  • Ability to develop procedures for change management and configuration control.
  • Collaboration and alignment with Home Office and other Government Department peers.
  • Ability to keep up-to-date with wider policy developments, standards, legislation, and technology.
