Position Overview
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing the receipt, inspection, and storage of goods and materials from suppliers, ensuring accurate management of inventory at the Thames Refinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest standards of Safety, Quality, Hygiene, and Environmental practices.
- Receive, inspect, and accurately store goods delivered by suppliers.
- Utilize the SAP System for recording goods receipts, issues, and stock transfers.
- Conduct physical inventory counts and stocktakes, addressing any discrepancies.
- Manage the collection and return of equipment for repairs, coordinating with local vendors.
- Ensure timely and efficient processing of incoming and outgoing goods to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Materials Management team to optimize the weekly delivery schedule.
- Complete all necessary documentation for goods received, including certificates of analysis and delivery notes.
- Work closely with Packing Area Managers to ensure proper storage and control of products.
- Perform inbound quality checks on materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Verify compliance of new or modified packaging materials with established standards.
- Ensure traceability of incoming materials is clear and meets specifications.
- Manage non-conforming materials by quarantining and communicating issues appropriately.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested information.
- Undertake additional duties as required by the business.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong numerical and English literacy skills.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly SAP, Windows, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Valid driver's license.
- Demonstrated teamwork and flexibility.
- Forklift Truck License is preferred.
