Community Engagement Coordinator at Methodist Homes

Available Hours:

Permanent - Full Time - 37 hours per week.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to your local community by assisting older adults in enhancing their social connections.


We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team. The role involves traveling within the community, so a valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential. Candidates should be proficient in various digital tools, including Microsoft Word and Excel, as administrative tasks and record-keeping are part of the job.


As the Community Engagement Coordinator, you will oversee and facilitate a variety of activities tailored to the needs of the community. This position includes managing a cognitive training and social group for seniors, as well as coordinating a line dancing class with an external instructor. Your responsibilities will include financial management, scheduling, and membership coordination.


The activities you coordinate will aim to alleviate feelings of isolation and loneliness while promoting the overall well-being of older adults across different community environments.


The program may encompass a range of services, including but not limited to, befriending initiatives, lunch gatherings, social excursions, and clubs. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing new activities based on community feedback and needs. This may involve collaborating with local organizations to provide IT training or arranging fitness sessions led by professionals.
