Position Overview: An exciting opportunity has emerged for a seasoned Midwife to take on a pivotal role as the Public Health Lead Midwife. This position focuses on enhancing the health of expectant mothers and, consequently, positively influencing the health of their unborn children.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with service users, the maternity team, and local partners to enhance and safeguard health and well-being.
  • Address health disparities and promote the well-being of families.
  • Influence practices, policies, and strategies within the service, the trust, and the broader health community.
  • Work alongside specialist midwives to develop optimal care pathways for effective health outcomes.
  • Engage with service users and multidisciplinary teams to bolster health initiatives and improve family health across the region.
  • Focus on enhancing outcomes for women facing modifiable risk factors, including smoking, obesity, and breastfeeding challenges.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase immunization uptake year on year.
  • Assist in managing the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation process.
