Job Summary

The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth is seeking a skilled and dedicated Hand Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our Hand Therapy team, you will work closely with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care and support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate patients with complex orthopedic hand and plastic surgery conditions, utilizing advanced clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based knowledge.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account patient goals, needs, and preferences.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
  • Provide education and training to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on hand therapy techniques and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of hand therapy policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • BSc hons degree in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or equivalent.
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration for Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience working with complex plastic and orthopedic hand surgery.
  • Highly skilled in hand therapy splinting and post-operative wound care.
  • Experience of a wide range of approaches for the management of complex patients.
