Overview:
First Military Recruitment Ltd is actively seeking a skilled Service Engineer to join our esteemed client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site audits to ensure adherence to standards, client expectations, and safety protocols.
  • Promote a culture of safety to maintain a professional service.
  • Diagnose and resolve on-site issues effectively.
  • Act as the lead Engineer for Environmental Services in relation to water industry operations.
  • Contribute to Research & Development associated with company products, providing technical support for patents and deliverables.
  • Mentor and assist in the development of junior team members.
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing the status of ongoing projects.
  • Promote the company to clients and potential clients.
  • Generate reports and manuals for completed projects, offering recommendations based on engineering assessments and preparing quotations for additional work.
  • Assist in the installation, decommissioning, and servicing of interceptors.
  • Enhance the capabilities of the depot and wider group by staying updated on technical advancements in products and services.
  • Ensure daily operations and service delivery meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure cost-effectiveness and quality control.
  • Prepare scope of work documents, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Audit work sites and assets, maintaining stock levels and ensuring proper equipment usage.
  • Operate company vehicles responsibly, ensuring all necessary checks are completed prior to commencing work.
  • Ensure all required equipment is present and stored correctly on the assigned vehicle.
  • Provide guidance to site engineers and clients.
  • Prepare estimates and proposals following site surveys.
  • Liaise with client representatives to ensure outstanding performance.
  • Prepare necessary reports for client meetings.
  • Ensure compliance during the uplifting and offloading of products and materials, prioritizing health and safety.
  • Maintain the security of all company vehicles and equipment, ensuring all items are fit for purpose.
  • Complete all works paperwork promptly and accurately.
  • Regularly meet with management to discuss current and upcoming projects, suggesting operational improvements or commercial opportunities.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management, for which the post holder is trained and capable.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong background in water sector MEICA, SCADA, and familiarity with WIMES.
  • Knowledge of British Standard 7775:2005 for penstocks.
  • Experience with leakage tests and compliance with specifications.
  • Prior experience with actuators from major water industry suppliers such as Rotork and AUMA.
  • Understanding of control philosophies for various penstock types.
  • Able to interpret mechanical and civil engineering drawings.
  • Experience in issuing and completing RAMS documentation.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Service engineering background required; electrical experience is a plus.
  • Recognized electrical qualifications/competencies are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of environmental products such as STP, Pumping stations, and Separators.
  • Sound engineering knowledge and competency in electrical industrial installations.
  • Understanding of separation logics and filtration processes.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and best practices is desirable.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing environments and emergency work situations.
  • Flexibility in working hours and travel is required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Email; capable of preparing and presenting reports.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training as needed.
  • Right to Work in the UK.
