About the Role

Spencer Clarke Group is seeking a highly skilled Homelessness Prevention Adviser to join their team in North London. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in providing tailored advice and support to vulnerable individuals and households, helping them navigate housing options, prevent homelessness, and access essential services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Strategic Objectives
    • Provide expert advice on housing options, welfare benefits, debt management, and employment opportunities to customers at risk of homelessness.
    • Manage a diverse caseload, maintaining accurate records and meeting performance targets.
    • Prevent homelessness through negotiation, mediation, or securing alternative housing solutions.
    • Deliver advice through drop-in services, telephone, outreach sessions, and home visits when necessary.
    • Assist customers with housing applications and guide them through bidding processes for permanent housing.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders
    • Work closely with local authorities, housing providers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners to enhance service provision and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Experience and Skills
    • Proven experience working in a housing advice, homelessness prevention, or related service.
    • Ability to manage a varied caseload, including landlord/tenant disputes, welfare rights, and homelessness.
    • Experience working with vulnerable individuals or households at risk of homelessness.
    • Knowledge of the public and private housing sectors and the options available for those in housing need.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
