We are seeking a highly skilled Governance and Compliance Manager to join our team at Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that we operate within our Rules, constitutional documents, and regulatory and legislative obligations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive corporate governance, compliance, and legal assurance services to support the Head of Governance and Compliance.
- Ensure timely completion of legal obligations around Companies House and FCA reporting, and support Group restructures as needed.
- Line manage the Company Secretarial Assistant, including day-to-day management, training, and development.
- Offer governance and compliance advice and guidance to the board, executive, and colleagues.
- Service the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) and manage the internal audit program.
- Service other Board Committees as required, including the Treasury Committee, Evolution (SPV), and the MTVH Foundation.
- Provide assurance to the Executive, ARC, and Board that risk is managed at a strategic and operational level.
- Draft, review, and update corporate and governance policies and procedures.
- Oversee compliance with legal and regulatory obligations to ensure compliance reporting deadlines are met.
- Degree-level education and Chartered Governance Institute or legal qualification.
- Substantial experience in governance and compliance within a large, regulated sector organization (preferably social housing).
- Excellent IT skills and comfort with standard office IT packages and electronic portals.
- Ability to undertake management responsibilities.
