About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Governance and Compliance Manager to join our team at Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that we operate within our Rules, constitutional documents, and regulatory and legislative obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide comprehensive corporate governance, compliance, and legal assurance services to support the Head of Governance and Compliance.
  2. Ensure timely completion of legal obligations around Companies House and FCA reporting, and support Group restructures as needed.
  3. Line manage the Company Secretarial Assistant, including day-to-day management, training, and development.
  4. Offer governance and compliance advice and guidance to the board, executive, and colleagues.
  5. Service the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) and manage the internal audit program.
  6. Service other Board Committees as required, including the Treasury Committee, Evolution (SPV), and the MTVH Foundation.
  7. Provide assurance to the Executive, ARC, and Board that risk is managed at a strategic and operational level.
  8. Draft, review, and update corporate and governance policies and procedures.
  9. Oversee compliance with legal and regulatory obligations to ensure compliance reporting deadlines are met.
Requirements
  1. Degree-level education and Chartered Governance Institute or legal qualification.
  2. Substantial experience in governance and compliance within a large, regulated sector organization (preferably social housing).
  3. Excellent IT skills and comfort with standard office IT packages and electronic portals.
  4. Ability to undertake management responsibilities.
