Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join a leading manufacturing firm specializing in custom components for the water, energy, and power sectors. This role involves working 40 hours per week on a rotating shift schedule.

Compensation:
£29,079 PA

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough daily inspections of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in line with site protocols.
  • Ensure all loading processes are executed safely and efficiently, adhering to best practice standards and maintaining accuracy against picking documentation.
  • Prepare orders for dispatch utilizing a batch-based inventory management system.
  • Generate dispatch documentation for outgoing shipments using the ERP system.
  • Receive and unload goods from suppliers, processing delivery documentation accordingly.
  • Assist with various paperwork requests to verify and compile orders for internal stakeholders.
  • Load coils, pipes, and fittings onto delivery vehicles.
  • Provide internal manufacturing with coil storage solutions and manage stock relocation as needed.
  • Maintain clear roadways and ensure product storage is organized to uphold quality standards.
  • Perform daily housekeeping tasks and label products for final delivery with customer information.
  • Coordinate with onsite shunter for trailer selection and comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including auditing and near-miss reporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and support business objectives.
  • Experience in stock control and monitoring stock discrepancies, reporting quality issues to management.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required by business needs.
  • Collaborate with management to meet operational targets within the stockyard.
  • Safely split full pack products into smaller units while ensuring secure packing for storage.
  • Work in accordance with established picking rates and promptly address any operational challenges.
  • Strong safety awareness and readiness to receive training in relevant legislation and auditing practices.
  • Current FLT Reach, Counterbalance, and Side Loader licenses are essential.
  • Experience in a stockyard or warehouse setting, with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage tactfully and assertively with diverse individuals.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail when handling information.
  • Familiarity with MRP and stock control principles, along with a willingness to assist with general duties as needed.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production line environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with experience in customer and supplier interactions.
  • FLT licenses for Counterbalance and Side Loader/Combi are mandatory.
