Graduate Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Graduate Engineer to join our client's team in Newry, Northern Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent engineering graduate to gain valuable experience and training in a project delivery environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support project teams in securing new business and delivering projects through various activities, including reviewing contract documents and coordinating with departments.
  • Adhere to health and safety, quality, and environmental management systems, and report project status to the Project Manager.
  • Communicate promptly with stakeholders regarding project schedules and issues, and perform varied duties reflecting the small team flexibility at our location.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Comply with company procedures when committing to agreements, and represent the company professionally at all times.
  • Set up schedules for timely submission and completion of project-related documents, and oversee project progress through regular meetings with the supply chain and client representatives.
  • Maintain customer contact, advise on progress, and respond to contract-related queries, and prepare progress reports and update construction programs before client meetings.
Training, Experience, and Development
  • Schedule development requirements with the Project Manager to gain knowledge and experience for the Project Engineer role, and conduct quarterly reviews to demonstrate progress in personal development.
Leadership/Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Promote health and safety performance, supervise supply chain and subcontract teams on site, and assist in developing a Construction Phase Plan.
  • Manage site mobilisation and induction for visitors, review RAMS, and control material delivery to the site, and ensure subcontract teams adhere to site rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Engineering Degree (2:1 or above), experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or project management environment, and health and safety training knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Teams, Word, Excel, Project, and other MS Office programs, and ability to use IT and ERP systems rapidly.
  • Advanced mathematical skills for complex situations, and ability to read and understand specifications, fabrication, and engineering drawings.
