Graduate Engineer Position

We are seeking a dynamic Graduate Engineer to join our team, combining project delivery responsibilities with gaining valuable experience and training over a one-year development period.
Main Responsibilities- Support project teams to secure new business and deliver projects through various activities.
- Adhere to health and safety, quality, and environmental management systems.
- Review contract documents, POs, project plans, and specifications, providing comments when applicable.
- Coordinate with departments and Project Engineers/Managers to meet task deadlines and prioritise staff workload.
- Schedule and conduct project review meetings, focusing on contract terms, scope, cost, construction, and scheduling.
- Report project status to the Project Manager while adhering to policies and safety procedures.
- Communicate promptly with stakeholders regarding project schedules and issues.
- Comply with company procedures when committing to agreements.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
- Set up schedules for timely submission and completion of project-related documents.
- Oversee project progress through regular meetings with the supply chain, subcontract team, and client representatives.
- Maintain customer contact, advising on progress, and responding to contract-related queries.
- Prepare progress reports and update construction programs before client meetings.
- Attend contractual meetings in the UK and Ireland if required.
- Maintain an effective system of contract management.
- Monitor and report contract variations and warranty claims.
- Produce reports on recurring warranty problems for the Technical department.
- Schedule development requirements with the Project Manager to gain knowledge and experience for the Project Engineer role.
- Conduct quarterly reviews to demonstrate progress in personal development.
- Promote health and safety performance.
- Supervise supply chain and subcontract teams on site.
- Assist in developing a Construction Phase Plan.
- Manage site mobilisation and induction for visitors.
- Review RAMS and control material delivery to the site.
- Ensure subcontract teams adhere to site rules and regulations.
- Engineering Degree (2:1 or above).
- Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or project management environment.
- Health and safety training knowledge.
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret complex industry-related documents.
- Effectively respond to technical and commercial issues.
- Prepare and communicate status reports.
- Presentation skills for work reports and proposals.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Teams, Word, Excel, Project, and other MS Office programs.
- Ability to use IT and ERP systems rapidly.
- Advanced mathematical skills for complex situations.
- Ability to read and understand specifications, fabrication, and engineering drawings.
- Rapid knowledge acquisition of clean and wastewater treatment processes.
- Adaptability within a small, multi-disciplined team.
- CAD experience.
- Understanding of commercial terms and contract law.
- Work environments include office, workshop, yard premises, supply chain premises, and operational and construction sites within the water industry.
- Travel in the UK and Ireland may be required, including occasional overnight stays, planned in advance.
