About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Account Handler to join our UK Specialty business in Croydon. As an Account Handler, you will play a crucial role in servicing existing clients and acquiring new business within our Sport & Entertainment division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming enquiries from clients, insurers, and other third parties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work within agreed authority levels to ensure seamless client service.
  • Review client demands and needs, advising on the most appropriate insurances to meet their requirements.
  • Grow the client base by identifying new business opportunities.
  • Convert insurance needs into sales, leading to increased revenue.
  • Process client new business, renewals, midterm adjustments, and lapses in accordance with current procedures and FCA requirements.
  • Input accurate data onto back-office systems to ensure efficient client management.
  • Liaise with Insurers and other third parties regarding client insurance needs.
  • Assess, assimilate, analyze, and present to insurers and underwriters to achieve risk acceptance at the most advantageous rate.
  • Prepare customer reports on new and existing risks to support the commercial lines manager/supervisor.
  • Take ownership of actioning and updating the Diary System as advised and within defined time scales.

Requirements:

  • Commercial insurance experience, ideally in schemes business.
  • Ability to build successful, mutually beneficial business/client relationships.
  • Understanding of broking and underwriting processes.
  • Highly organized, with good planning skills.
  • Able to work flexibly to achieve tight deadlines/targets.
  • Completion of or progress towards CII.
