About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Maintenance Technician to join our team at Royal Mail's Midlands Parcel Super Hub. As a key member of our critical engineering maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the availability and performance of automation assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance
  • Conduct continuous improvement activities to enhance automation outputs
  • Provide effective support to the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Team Leads
  • Identify root causes of automation breakdowns and prioritize corrective actions
  • Monitor equipment performance and collaborate with operational stakeholders to improve automation outputs
Requirements

We are looking for an experienced multi-skilled engineer with a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering. You will have a minimum ONC Electrical Engineering or NVQ Level 3 qualification, as well as first-hand experience in maintaining automation equipment, ideally Programme Logic Controllers (PLC). A flexible approach and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.

What We Offer

As a Automation Maintenance Technician at Royal Mail, you will enjoy a competitive salary of £51,051 per annum, plus a night shift allowance of £2,500 per annum. You will also be eligible for a welcome bonus of £1,500. Our comprehensive benefits package includes a defined contribution pension scheme, 22.5 days annual leave, and free parking.
