About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Maintenance Technician to join our team at Royal Mail's Midlands Parcel Super Hub. As a key member of our critical engineering maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of automation assets through effective maintenance procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance
  • Conduct continuous improvement activities to optimize automation outputs
  • Provide effective support to the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Team Leads
  • Identify root causes of automation breakdowns and prioritize corrective actions
  • Collaborate with operational stakeholders to monitor equipment performance and improve automation outputs

About You

As an experienced multi-skilled engineer, you will be qualified in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 – or equivalent). You will have a flexible approach and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively.

As a Royal Mail employee, you will have access to a range of benefits, including a defined contribution pension scheme, 22.5 days (15 shifts) annual leave plus bank holidays, and free parking. You may also be eligible for a welcome bonus of £1,500.

Shift Pattern

The successful candidate will be required to follow a shift rotation system, with some degree of voluntary flexibility to meet our 24/7 operational needs. You will work 12 hour shifts, including two weeks earlies (07:00 - 19:00) and two weeks nights (19:00 - 07:00), with rest days.
