Job Title: Attendance Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Attendance Officer to join our team at Wembley Primary School. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in promoting and improving pupil attendance across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attendance Monitoring: Maintain accurate attendance records for all pupils and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Engagement and Support: Communicate with parents regarding attendance issues and provide support to improve attendance.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement the school's attendance policy and ensure that all stakeholders understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Legal Compliance: Liaise with the local authority regarding attendance legal interventions when necessary.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates to the senior leadership team regarding attendance statistics and improvement strategies.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade C in English Language and Maths.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within a school environment or other educational setting.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Good listening skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, and knowledge of the possible interventions to raise attendance.
  • Personal Qualities: Organised, proactive, and self-motivated, with a commitment to upholding and promoting the ethos and values of the school.
