Identifi Global Resources is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join our team. Collaborating closely with the Head of Procurement, you will deliver expert guidance on the drafting, evaluation, and negotiation of commercial agreements. This role is integral to our business operations and the Commercial team, focusing on a variety of legal documents that underpin our organizational goals. A profound understanding of contract law and pertinent banking regulations, along with familiarity in financial service operations, is essential.

  • Admission to practice in England and Wales
  • Demonstrated in-house legal experience within the Financial Services sector
  • Strong technical legal capabilities and expertise in Commercial Law
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse professionals and stakeholders in a dynamic environment
  • Capacity to work autonomously, applying sound legal judgment and commercial insight
  • Exceptional organizational abilities
  • Detail-oriented and logical thinker
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving circumstances and objectives
  • Collaborative team player willing to support colleagues as needed
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels
  • Qualified Solicitor with NQ to 3 years PQE

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead on significant commercial agreements, including Terms and Conditions for products and services, payment services agreements, client agreements, IT contracts, third-party supplier agreements (including outsourcing contracts), and various internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Deliver prompt and efficient legal support to back-office functions, including Human Resources, General Administration, Financial Management, Risk & Compliance, and Internal Assurance.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of regulatory issues pertinent to the client’s commercial agreements, including operational resilience, outsourcing, data privacy, and UK GDPR.
  • Provide sound legal counsel and assistance to various departments and stakeholders, including Senior Management, regarding commercial agreements with clients and suppliers.
  • Identify the need for external legal counsel when necessary and manage the allocation of work between in-house and external attorneys, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee and manage external counsel/legal assurance, ensuring adherence to budget constraints and high-quality deliverables.
  • Contribute to broader legal risk management initiatives, including drafting and implementing relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely reporting and escalation of legal risks and pertinent matters to the Head of Department.
  • Effectively manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality and efficient service.
