Senior Principal Research Scientist, Data Analytics

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Principal Research Scientist to join our Research Analytics team at Lifelancer. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our drug discovery and development efforts by applying advanced analytical techniques to derive insights from complex data sets.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Implement Advanced Data Analytical Strategies: Lead the design and implementation of advanced data analytical strategies to support drug discovery and development programs.
- Analyze Complex Data Sets: Analyze complex biological and chemical data sets to identify patterns, trends, and potential therapeutic targets and drug candidates.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including medicinal chemistry, biology, computational chemistry and bioinformatics to drive decision-making throughout the drug discovery process.
- Develop Innovative Computational Approaches: Develop and apply innovative computational approaches to enhance data analysis and interpretation.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay abreast of the latest developments in data science, bioinformatics, and machine learning, and integrate relevant methodologies into research projects.
- Lead and Mentor Team Members: Act as a subject matter expert in research analytics, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Manage Direct Reports: Manage 1-2 direct reports and set the team up for growth, strengthen our digital talent and foster a culture of open-minded co-creation of innovative solutions with internal / external network of partners
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Related Field: PhD. in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven Track Record in Data Analytics: Proven track record of applying advanced data analytical techniques to drug discovery and development projects.
- Expertise in Statistical Analysis, Machine Learning, and Data Visualization: Expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
- Strong Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in languages such as (Linux / Python / Jupyter / Scikit-learn / Spotfire / etc.).
- Experience with Large-Scale Data Sets: Experience working with large-scale biological and chemical data sets (e.g. biologics, sequencing, genomics, proteomics, high-throughput screening).
- Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Prior Experience in the Biopharmaceutical Industry: Prior experience in the biopharmaceutical industry is preferred.
