Job Description Summary

This role is within the GE Aerospace Metal Additive Design team, responsible for designing, developing, and maturing state-of-the-art additively manufactured components for commercial products, including the CFM RISE program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects focused on designing and testing next-generation additively manufactured hardware, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Organize and manage project plans, action plans, and schedules for executing component durability, producibility, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Act as a technical mentor and team lead for a small team of mechanical design engineers, driving milestone completion and collaborating with the Combustion organization.
  • Support component delivery efforts, lead technical maturation testing activities, and improve component producibility through design and manufacturing changes.
  • Contribute to setting priorities and driving innovation in design and development, with a moderate level of autonomy and high levels of operational judgement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related STEM field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in design engineering, with a strong background in additive manufacturing and mechanical design.

  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related STEM field from an accredited university.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with experience in influencing and leading small teams.
  • Technical depth in additive manufacturing, with proven experience collaborating with manufacturing counterparts.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Unigraphics NX), GD&T, and stress analysis software (ANSYS, etc.).
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, with demonstrated project management expertise.
