About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our client's in-house legal function in South Wales and the Southwest. As a strategic member of the team, you will provide timely commercial advice to senior stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the General Counsel in providing broad commercial advice to stakeholders from across the main functions of the business, including Procurement, Regulation, Health and Safety, Net Zero, HR, and Infrastructure, Estates, and Operations.
  • Draft and negotiate Construction Contracts and Commercial Agreements, and provide strategic and commercially sensitive advice on Data Protection, Procurement Regulations, Commercial Disputes, and Property Disputes.
  • Provide legal support to the business, influencing senior-level decision-making and providing robust advice and guidance on risk management and regulatory obligations for operators in the utility and energy sectors.
Requirements

We are looking for a first-class technical lawyer with broad experience across the energy and utilities sectors. You will have experience in-house or gained at a high-quality national or regional law firm, with exposure to advising clients in the utilities and energy sectors.
