Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and guide peers in developing suitable design levels and achieving consensus on technical decisions.
- Collaborate with fellow software engineers and teams to architect and implement deployment strategies utilizing automated continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Work alongside software engineers and teams to design, develop, test, and implement solutions focused on availability, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for the applications and platforms under your oversight.
- Engage with technical experts, key stakeholders, and team members to address complex challenges.
- Utilize service level indicators and objectives to proactively identify and resolve issues before they affect customers.
- Promote the adoption of site reliability engineering best practices within your team.
- Formal education or certification in software engineering principles with advanced practical experience.
- Deep understanding of site reliability culture and principles, with knowledge of implementation within applications or platforms.
- Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, and tools like Control-M or Apache Airflow.
- Strong knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a specific technical domain (e.g., Cloud, artificial intelligence, Android, etc.).
- Experience in observability practices, including white and black box monitoring, service level objective alerting, and telemetry collection using tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, and Splunk.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Understanding of common networking technologies and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to identify potential roadblocks proactively and a keen interest in learning technologies that foster innovation.
- Expertise in Ab-Initio, Hadoop ecosystem, Spark/Scala or PySpark, and AWS across at least two technology stacks for designing, coding, testing, and delivering software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure components, including routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage, and networks.
