About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to lead our team in building and optimizing large-scale private cloud infrastructures.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, building, managing, and scaling OpenStack environments, with a deep understanding of open-source technologies and a passion for hardware automation and cloud services.

This role is crucial in ensuring our private cloud is resilient and adaptable, meeting current needs and future technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture, implementation, and management of scalable private clouds using OpenStack and Canonical Metal-as-a-service (MaaS).
  • Develop automation processes for provisioning and managing bare metal servers in a large-scale environment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design and enhance tools for automating infrastructure deployment.
  • Drive continuous improvement by staying updated with emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Ensure security, stability, and scalability of the system architecture.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in OpenStack components and services.
  • Experience with KVM and Metal as a Service platforms.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, Go, etc.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code methodologies.
  • Expertise in Ansible for configuration management.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud storage technologies like Ceph.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking concepts.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Software development experience.
  • Experience in systems architecture and design.
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
  • Technical leadership experience is a plus.
