Job Title: Principal Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Workonblockchain. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop cloud infrastructure solutions that meet client requirements
  • Act as an implementation lead for cloud infrastructure projects
  • Provide technical escalation support for complex incidents and problem management
  • Ensure security and compliance through proposed and implemented centralized controls
  • Collaborate with the project and operations team to document centralized constructs and produced modules or artefacts
Requirements:
  • Expert technical background in enterprise server, storage, hypervisor, and operating systems
  • Logical and collaborative approach to problem-solving
  • Exceptional communication and social skills
  • Self-motivator with energy and drive for continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to influence technical decisions in a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Minimum of 8 years of data engineering experience
Essential:
  • 5+ years of experience in a Senior Infrastructure support/engineer role
  • Experience with Dell Power Edge Servers, PowerVault, PowerStore, PowerScale, and PowerMAX
  • Background in supplier management or managed service provider (MSP) environments
  • Proficiency in Windows Server OS, Linux and Unix OS, VMware ESXi, and Active Directory
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and data protection
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with IBM FlashSystem and QNAP
  • Experience implementing security controls, compliance standards, and security monitoring in cloud environments
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements, including DSPT
  • Experience in an industry framework (ITIL, ISO 20000/27001, etc.)
  • A full UK driving license is preferred
