Job Title: Apprentice Highways Project Manager

United Living Group is a leading provider of infrastructure services, and we are seeking an experienced Apprentice Highways Project Manager to join our team in Shetland.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to manage projects from start to finish, ensuring successful delivery, health and safety, and commercial awareness. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing high-value projects, experience with NEC contracts, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring successful delivery, health and safety, and commercial awareness.
  2. Develop and implement project plans, setting standards and ensuring consistency across the business.
  3. Manage the company's obligations and rights under the terms of the contract.
  4. Act as a strong leader, promoting high standards of health and safety and environmental management.
  5. Ensure accurate and compliant HSQE activity and reporting.
  6. Manage project teams, ensuring adequate staffing and effective leadership.
  7. Support the Operations Director in managing areas of opportunity and risk.
  8. Work closely with the Commercial Manager to ensure commercial and operational alignment.
  9. Resolve operational and technical issues at a project level.
  10. Lead people responsibilities, including performance and development reviews.
  11. Provide up-to-date and accurate reports on project progress.
Requirements:
  1. Experience as a Gas or Pipeline Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager.
  2. Commercial and programming awareness, with experience with NEC contracts.
  3. Proven track record of successful project delivery.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  5. Experience on similar works for Grid, Cadent, Northern Gas Networks, Scotia Gas Networks.
  6. Experience managing high-value projects or portfolios.
  7. Full UK driving license.
