About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Audiologist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As an Audiologist, you will be responsible for providing sensitive advice to patients regarding their auditory status, developing and advising on interventions and rehabilitation programmes, and providing theoretical and clinical knowledge to a range of practitioners.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide sensitive advice to patients regarding their auditory status, delivered within an emotive atmosphere.
- Develop and advise on interventions and rehabilitation programmes based on autonomous clinical opinion.
- Provide theoretical and clinical knowledge to a range of practitioners, including presentation of summary data at clinical audit meetings.
- Work within the adult team to deliver clinical direction to the service, within the boundaries set by service leads.
- Be aware of the referral-to-treatment position of the adult service and ensure that service leads are appraised of threats to breaching.
- Contribute to the efficiencies of device utilisation and patient benefit outcomes, as well as awareness of DNA rates for the adult service.
- Conduct daily stage A calibration checks on all equipment to be included within clinical tasks for the day, reporting any calibration failures to the head of service and calibration lead.

Person Specification
- BSc in science subject or MSc training in Audiology.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of adult Audiological assessment and rehabilitation.
- Ability to select optimal hearing aid and programming algorithm for the clinical condition.
- Ability to use complex software inherent to hearing aid programming and patient data collection.
