Position Overview

On-Site Water Treatment Technician

This role involves on-site chemical analysis, focusing on the assessment, maintenance, and repair of water treatment systems at client locations. Responsibilities include managing chemical deliveries to storage tanks, ensuring adequate stock levels, organizing and planning tasks, coordinating with subcontractors, and engaging in regular review meetings with clients to discuss ongoing activities and performance.

Previous experience in the UK Water Treatment sector is crucial, particularly in areas such as Cooling Towers, Legionella management, and Closed System Treatment. Ideal candidates will also possess knowledge of Chlorine Dioxide systems, Domestic Legionella control, Steam Boilers, and other relevant expertise. Due to the nature of the position, candidates must undergo a full DBS check and have resided in the UK for the past five years, unless serving overseas with UK Forces.

Daily Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting water sampling and documenting results.
  • Calibrating equipment and issuing calibration certificates as necessary.
  • Performing specialized maintenance on technology and equipment.
  • Operating dosing pumps, adjusting dosing rates, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Diagnosing control equipment error messages and resolving problems.
  • Communicating technical concepts to clients and providing solutions.
  • Completing LCA audit checklists for EVS suppliers.
  • Utilizing the Gensuite system for managing QEHS documentation.
  • Planning compliance calendar tasks and conducting inspection audits.
  • Familiarizing with commercial agreements and ensuring adherence; notifying the team of any client-requested changes.
  • Identifying upgrade opportunities for chemical dosing equipment, training, analytical services, or expanded service scope.
  • Assisting in project execution from initial surveying to final completion.
  • Engaging in review meetings with clients.
  • Compiling Operations Manuals for client reference.
  • Managing chemical and salt deliveries to client facilities.
  • Overseeing scheduled tasks and ensuring coordination among multiple operatives to fulfill contract obligations.

Important Considerations:

A valid UK driving license is required. Applications will only be considered from individuals eligible to work in the UK. Successful candidates must pass a DBS check and have lived in the UK for the past five years to meet site security requirements (unless serving overseas with UK Forces).

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Significant experience in the UK Water Treatment Industry.
  • Familiarity with Cooling Towers, Closed Systems, and Legionella management.
