Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Social Work Academy Team as a permanent member of staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and managing the workload of newly qualified social workers, providing mentoring, reflective supervision, and monitoring of case progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Manage Workload: Under the direction of the Team Manager, supervise and manage the workload of newly qualified social workers, providing guidance and support to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Mentor and Educate: Provide mentoring, reflective supervision, and monitoring of case progression to ensure social workers are equipped to handle complex situations.
  • Contribute to Learning and Development: Contribute to the learning and development of the Academy/NCC as a training organisation by managing the interface between Higher Education Institute and training/workplace situations.
  • Quality Assurance: Quality assure practice learning opportunities for social workers undertaking social work development training at undergraduate and post-qualifying levels.
  • Case File Audits: Undertake case file audits to improve the quality of casework and ensure feedback from audit activity is implemented into social work practice.
  • Information Systems: Provide accurate information to the Team Manager and assist with establishing, maintaining, and utilising information systems to ensure best practice.
  • Professional Leadership: Deliver professional leadership and education for social workers associated with the Academy to provide effective and professional service delivery.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety, and welfare of yourself and other persons, and comply with the policies and procedures relating to health and safety within the department.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in Social Work.
  • Registration: Current Social Work England Registration.
  • Experience: Experience within Children's Services.
  • Driver's Licence: Full Driver's Licence and have use of a vehicle.
