Pharmacy Distribution Manager Opportunity

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacy technician to lead and manage our pharmacy distribution service. As a key member of our technical services team, you will be responsible for managing our responsive medicines storage and supply service, contributing to the ongoing review and strategic development of this service, and innovating and implementing service development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop the pharmacy distribution service, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of medicines to patients.
  • Contribute to the ongoing review and strategic development of the service, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Develop and implement service development initiatives, working closely with the pharmacy team and other stakeholders.
  • Jointly manage, support, and facilitate the training and professional development of pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support staff.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in leadership and managing change, with a strong understanding of Good Distribution Practice.
  • Proficiency in the use of IT systems, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
